TROUBLESHOOTINGIf your air purifier is not operating normally, the cause may be found by reviewing the following procedures: |

Power Light Does Not Come On | |
Ionization Control knob not turned on. | Turn knob clockwise to turn on. |
Front cover not secure. | Check cover for proper placement. The unit has a built-in child safety device. When the cover is not fastened properly the power is shut off for safety. |
Unit not firmly plugged into electrical outlet. | Plug in power cord firmly into electrical outlet. |
No voltage in wall unit. | Check fuse or breaker. |
Collection Sheets Stay Clean Yet Power Light Is On | |
Ionization line is loose. | Disconnect unit from electrical outlet and check ionization line is securely connected. |
Ionization line is broken. | Replace Ionization line (see Parts Installation). |
Air purifier is dirty. | Disconnect unit from electrical outlet. Clean ionization line, main body and aluminum plates with a clean, soft cloth. Do this gently and carefully, making sure not to snag ionization line. Replace the Dielectric Collection Sheet (see Maintenance). |
Air Purifier Is Making a Prominent Hissing Noise | |
Air purifier is dirty. | Disconnect unit from electrical outlet. Clean ionization line, main body and aluminum plates with a clean, soft cloth. Do this gently and carefully, making sure not to snag ionization line. Replace the Dielectric Collection Sheet (see Maintenance). |
Distinct Ozone Odor | |
Ionization level set too high for your room or your comfort. | The amount of ozone released from the unit is always below the safe levels set by the FDA. The ozone odor may be more distinct from one person to another. Adjust the ionization control to a lower setting. |
Collection Sheet and/or air purifier is dirty. | Disconnect unit from electrical outlet. Clean ionization line, main body and aluminum plates with a clean soft cloth. Do this gently and carefully, not to snag ionization line. Replace the Dielectric Collection Sheet (see Maintenance). |
Light Emitted From Air Purifier | |
Common condition caused by static electricity. | No action necessary. |
Aluminum Plates Discolored | |
Occurs over time under normal operation. | Discoloration will not hinder product performance. If highly corroded by long term use and humidity, replacement aluminum plates are available (see Parts Installation). |
Static Interference on Television, Computer, or Stereo | |
Air purifier too close to other electrical equipment. | Operate air purifier at least four feet (1.2 m) away from other electrical equipment. |
Static Sound Coming From Air Purifier | |
New Collection Sheet Required. | Replace Dielectric Collection Sheet. Confirm that the collection sheet is installed flat and tucked under the tabs (see Parts Installation). |
